Sources and dates
Service manuals link to relevant primary resources such as CSIA, EPA and the U.S. Fire Administration. Sources support the general subject; our checklists and tools are editorial aids. Archived resources are identified. Update dates reflect substantive changes, not a daily refresh designed to look current.
How to distinguish the evidence

Local service counts describe companies whose records list that service. A company may appear in several categories. Missing information is shown as unknown rather than treated as a negative finding. Where coordinates are available, nearby city links use approximate straight-line distances between company locations; they are not driving distances or a promise of service coverage.
Ranking and recommendations
Directory order is determined by the displayed location, name or update sort. We do not calculate a safety score or label a contractor the best on the basis of a paid position. Compare current credentials, insurance, recent work and a written scope before hiring.
Images and illustrations
Chimney photographs on educational pages and company cards are AI-generated illustrations. They do not depict the listed contractor or prove a completed project. The anatomy atlas is a simplified drawing, not a construction or installation plan.
